Holmens Church along Holmens Canal

Holmens Church, established by King Christian IV in a former anchor forge, now serves as both a parish church and a church for the Danish Navy. Located by the water, you can get up close to the church and its magnificent splendor and history. It is remarkable that this attraction has survived numerous fires over time. As a result, you may have the opportunity to see the original 17th-century interior as well as the exterior (with the exception of reconstructions through time).

The Circle Bridge near Christianshavn Canal

In central Copenhagen, there are countless bridges, but one of the more notable ones can be found south of Christianshavn. At first glance, it might not look like a traditional bridge, but it certainly is. The Circle Bridge, built in 2015, connects Islands Brygge with Christianshavn. The distinctive round platforms visually reference Christianshavn’s history and culture surrounding the canals, with references to masts and sailing life. It is estimated that around 5,000 people cross it daily, either on foot or by bike
