Copenhagen’s development and growth continues and this means that the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel can welcome new neighbours. In the months and years ahead, new buildings and institutions will open in our vicinity. The new – and different – attractions will be just a short ride away across the harbour.
Go skiing on Amager Bakke
Believe it or not but in September 2018 a ski run will open in Copenhagen! The slope will be part of the city’s new refuse disposal plant, Amager Bakke (Hill). In addition to being able to slalom from the top of the plant, the multipurpose facility will have walking and running paths, fitness facilities and a climbing wall. The architects Bjarke Ingels Group have designed the plant and the landscape architects, SLA, have designed the ski run and roof park.
Aqua Centre, promenade and outdoor habour pools
2021 will see the opening of Copenhagen’s new Aqua Centre – a multi-facetted activity and culture centre with outdoor and indoor facilities. The undoubted attraction will be the large pool, filled with heated seawater and placed between the roofs of two buildings. In addition, there will be several outdoor harbour pools of varying depths. The Japanese architects, Kengo Kuma and Associates, have designed the facility.
